Overall it does the job and cleans really really well, it's also quieter than most vacuums I have used as well. The only downside is that the cleaning wand tends to detach itself if you bump into anything but this isn't too much of a problem, the cleaning power makes up for it. It picked up my pet hair and all dust in my home better than any vacuum cleaner I had ever come across, it was easy to clean and maintain. Then one day I heard a loud noise and saw some smoke and it appeared the belt had snapped, in addition the brush mount had melted and worst of all Eureka reps told me I wasn't covered under the warranty. All in all it would have cost me more to repair the machine than was worth so I cut my losses and got rid of it, I guess I was just unlucky but it put me off. I have had several friends who have been looking to purchase the same Eureka Altima bagless vacuum as me and I have told them the truth but I have also told them that I was probably unlucky as many people seem to be giving the product decent reviews.
